Stopping and coming back
Your child can stop a class at any time with Pause & leave. The teacher saves their place, and the next class picks up where they stopped: the lesson shows Continue on your child's page, and the teacher welcomes them back.
- A lesson left unfinished keeps its place for 30 days after anyone last worked on it. After that, it starts again from the beginning.
- If we've changed the lesson since, your child carries on in the version they began, for up to 14 days after pausing. After that, it starts again from the beginning in the new version, and it's marked Updated.
- On your family pages a paused lesson says where it stopped, and Start over begins it again.
- Opening the lesson on another screen moves the class there: the first screen says This lesson is open on another screen, and the place is saved.
The report comes when your child finishes the lesson, not when they pause it.
If your child walks away
When your child goes quiet, the teacher checks in first. If they say nothing and don't touch the board for about 3 minutes (about 5 in the parts of a lesson where they work on their own), the teacher says it will keep their place, says goodbye, and the class ends. The screen says Class paused while you were away, and the next class picks up from the saved place. The minutes after the last thing your child said or did don't count as class time.
