The parent PIN
Your children use My Family School on your account, often on a shared device. A 4-digit parent PIN keeps them out of the parent pages: reports, a child's settings, privacy choices, class time and purchases, and your account. You choose it the first time you hand over to a child (or before you first buy class time); until then, the parent pages open without it.
- Easy ones, such as 1234 or one number four times, are refused.
- You enter it on each device. It stays unlocked for 15 minutes from the last parent page you open, and locks again as soon as a class starts.
- On your own phone or computer, tick This is my own phone or computer to stay unlocked there for 30 days. Leave it unticked on a device your children use.
- Hand over to a child, on your family page, or the Lock button at the top of the parent pages locks them straight away and opens the children's classes. The Parents button on your child's page asks for the PIN.
- Five wrong tries in a row lock the PIN for 15 minutes.
A forgotten PIN
Where the PIN is asked for, press Forgot your PIN? Email me a link. Open the link in the same browser, and choose a new PIN.
To change your PIN, open your account page and press Change PIN. A new PIN locks the parent pages on your other devices until it's entered there.
