About the AI teacher
If a child may be in danger right now, call 911.
Children and teens can reach Kids Help Phone any time: call 1-800-668-6868 or text CONNECT to 686868. If you think a child in BC is being harmed, you can call BC's child protection line, 1-800-663-9122, at any hour.
The teachers are AI, not people: Ms. Carter, Ms. Miller, Ms. Taylor, Ms. Anderson, Ms. Bennett, Mr. Thompson, Mr. Cooper, Mr. Wilson, Mr. Parker and Mr. Hughes, each with their own voice. You choose one for each child, and can change your choice in the child's settings; your child can also choose on their own Me page, if you allow it.
- If your child asks, the teacher says plainly that it's an AI. It may not say so otherwise, so please tell your child before their first class.
- It never asks for personal information such as an address, school, phone number or photos.
- It gives hints instead of answers, one step at a time.
- It can make mistakes or misunderstand your child. If something seems off, tell us.
While your child talks, their voice goes live to our voice providers, LiveKit and xAI, so the teacher can hear and answer. We don't record the sound of classes or keep full transcripts. How voice classes work has the details.
